About Period Movement: “While struggling with homelessness as a teen, Nadya Okamoto discovered the biggest challenge of their living situations: “The unaddressed natural need of periods.” That’s why Okamoto started PERIOD.org, a nonprofit that gives women access to the period products they need to feel confident and clean every menstruation cycle, no matter their income. Now, it’s the largest youth-run nonprofit in women’s health.”
Period Movement serves our local communities bringing supplies to local schools, YWCA, and food banks just to name a few. They are using their platform to educate about period poverty and lobbying for the repeal of taxes on menstrual products.
If you’d like to support the Period Movement further, a rally will take place in Norfolk Oct. 19 click the Facebook link for the event and more info: https://www.facebook.com/events/738981049890832/
