Lavonne started practicing yoga when she retired and wasn’t convinced with that first “downward dog” that yoga was for her, but she persevered and yoga quickly became a meaningful part of her life. lt filled her heart and mind with a new perspective and has helped to increase her flexibility as well. She enjoyed yoga so much that she got her mother involved in Chair Yoga and they both still enjoy practicing together, but with Lavonne leading the class.
Lavonne believes that if you can breathe you can do yoga. She incorporates linking the breath with movement, in her classes and also teaches her students how to use the breath to relax and relieve stress and tension.
