RYT 200

Stacy was first introduced to the practice of yoga 12 years ago in college when she registered to take a Hatha Yoga class to fulfill a physical education requirement. Stacy had no idea that by taking this elected course her life would forever be changed. The class was offered as an on-line course and students were expected to practice daily using various DVD’s and afterwards record in a journal their experience. Stacy immediately was intrigued by the practice and intuitively knew that even though she wasn’t naturally flexible or understood how to ujjayi breathe, she did intuitively understand that if she faithfully continued to return to her mat, the practice would unfold naturally just as it should. In the quest to deepen her Yogic journey, Stacy was introduced to Yoga Nook in 2017 by a close friend. Yoga to Stacy is a very personal practice so the very act of practicing in a studio was unnerving, but her yearning to go deeper; especially, in relationship to her breath outweighed her insecurity. Since then, Stacy received her RYT 200 with the Nook and enjoys practicing as well as teaching restorative yoga, mindful, breath centered movement, Yin Yoga, and Chair Yoga. Stacy’s style of teaching is breath centered and focuses on how one feels in a posture rather than how one looks. We all come to our mats for different reasons but the end result is the same. We are striving to feel connected to our eternal truth, whether we realize it or not. As a teacher, Stacy’s mission is to create a safe and all-inclusive space to allow students to feel the freedom to explore their bodies, make friends with their breath, and expand their consciousness for all that is good, right within. The Bhagavad Gita tells, us that, “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self” all it takes is an ounce of willingness and the rest will unfold just as it should. Hope to see you in class! -Namaste
